United-Kingdom MINI sales soaring in USA

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that MINI is just about the only automaker not to be reporting sales drops in the USA. On the contrary, sales are so strong that it is difficult to find new MINIS on the lots, and US MINI sales this year should top 50,000.

That should be excellent for residuals across the pond...

DOWN THE ROAD / Mini boasts soaring sales

I would be interested to hear from MINI buyers in the US, did you buy straight off the lot or by a factory advance order?

Hi Billy, my current clubbie is my fifth MINI. I ordered it of course, that is a big part of why MINI is special, being able to get exactly what you want. But my experience with the clubs here show that it's split about 50/50 btwn those who order and those who walk in and buy off the lot.

There is a little bit of editorial license in that article. It is not hard at all to find MINIs on dealer lots, and MSRP sales are common. MINI sales are really strong in comparison to the other makes which are not selling well due to the economy.
