Hi Guys & Gals.

Im looking to get a CB for the car for Runs/meets/events that sort of thing.
Im wanting something that can cover a good few miles over most landscapes as best as possible, such as the lakes and yorkshire dales and stuff.

Ive been having a look at the Midland 48 Plus Multi along with a large springer aerial.

I would like to know what you guys use and your experiances with them, limitations etc and also if you have the kit that im looking at, what do you thing?

Oh, and please dont tell me to go to argos. They surely cant be worth the money and work more than a few meters in a straight line?

Never seen anyone else using one on a Run/Meet so not sure who you going to be talking to, as most people use standard little radios

Just normal 8 channel radio's will do-CB Radios have lots, mine had 72

Saw a few classics running the cb's at the lakes run last year, What's the range on the 2 way radios??? the hand held one's??? 5K

8K is the most i have found. But if there a hill in the way i would imagine that would limit it somewhat compared to a CB?
