Sad day due to MINI

My other passion (other than boats) (and fine watches) (and clothes) besides MINI is proper HIFI - not twin turntable flashing lights, loud disco rubbish, but exquisitely made British electronics.
With the imminent purchase of a GP or Clubman S, I decide to leave any savings where they are and liquidise some of my HIFI system., hence in a moment of madness and testing the water I put some of my equipment up for sale.

Lo and behold now I have a serious buyer for some of it ,which mean the rest will have to go as I downgrade,
There was a day when I'd walk or even get on the bendy bus before ever getting rid of any of my equipment, however the MINI bug has bitten deep.
So it looks as if I'll be listening to a new supercharger and "pop pop " if I go GP rather than a fine soundstage, but hey ho. Bit of an off topic but due to the attraction of the MINI magnet nevertheless.

I know the feeling. You are just swapping one passion for another.

I also sacrificed a few things before acquiring my MINI. Like a lot of things in life, we just can't always have every thing at the same time.

Having said that, I'll eat ketchup packets for supper before I give up my MINI

Look at it this way, by the time you've done some decent mileage in a GP with very little sound proofing and the supercharger screaming away, your hearing will be shot anyway and the delicate treble and mid's a good set-up can produce will be inaudible and any old crap with boom box bass will sound lovely

Mark Levinson Transport and DAC, Linn, Klimax and Kontrol amps and a pair of Wilson Benesch Discoverys all hooked up with Nordost Valhalla, circa 30k.
Now going one box units from Krell and Wadia and WB Arcs

GP wants to be better than good.

Nice kit that you're selling. You may find that the newer kit performs very well once run-in. I love hi-fi but could never justify spending such huge amounts of cash for that extra 1%. Great to hear from time-to-time at a hi-fi show though.

Enjoy the car and enjoy your new separates.

Yep it's the real law of diminshing returns at this end, but I suppose its same with cars really Veyron vs Zonda F, but sometimes that extra 1% is just magical. What are you using??? HIFI , I mean?
