Spandya,

I did something vaguely similar, traded down from an Audi Cabrio to a MINI Cooper S.

Your spec sounds good. Personally I think an all black interior is classier, but it's personal choice.

I went for Astro Black with full black leather.

Some other "essentials" to consider...

Sport suspension - you have to spec this if you want it, even with Chili pack, it's a no cost option

Bluetooth car phone connection. This is superb, gives you phone access through the on board computer thingy including phone memory. Also gives you centre armrest and gives you multi function steering wheel, and cruise control, and USB in dash. I've got a 16 GB stick with virtually my entire CD collection plugged into it all accessible through the on board computer. Absolutely brilliant.

Anthracite headlining - Black headlining basically rather than light grey. Looks smart with black interior.

Panoramic sunroof - Lightens up that interior. Also nice in summer with it open and windows down.

Heated seats - I like 'em

Good luck with the new car.

Here's pics of mine in black. I have Web alloys.

Well - just another update. Car should be mine on the 27th! Dealer says all looks good so far.
Porsche has had a few viewings - no buyers yet though. Maybe will have to resort to the p/x offered by dealer. (probably £1500 less than private sale offer I imagine).
Check this - one response from one of the car sale magazines wanted me to ship the car to his address in Dublin and then he'd send a bankers draft.YEAH RIGHT!
Roll on towards the 27th....

Great looking MINI

So how do you feel after todays congestion charge announcement, that the CooperD won't be getting free london entry, and that the £25 level has been scrapped?

Just interested to know if you'd have known this in May, would you still have gone for a CooperD?

That looks very nice indeed! Great bit of speccing!

I ordered sat nav, to justify it I told myself it was an interior upgrade with free nav! Will hardly see a penny of it come trade in probably...

Hi All,
first of all, thanks to all for helping me spec out the new car. Very happy with it!
Regarding the congestion charge - a bit of a bummer. Would I have chosen the Dooper? Let me answer in two parts!
Part 1: I would have gone for a Cooper S I think, however........
Part 2: having now spent a couple of weeks with a Cooper D, driven around 700 miles and really enjoyed it, I'm glad I went for it instead of an S. Not that it drives any better, but the cost savings I'm making really don't allow me to miss traffic lights go performance! I must be getting old!
Currently getting around 53mpg - but the more I drive, the better its getting.
