I noticed a mini specialist garage in Shifnal near Telford MiniMatt - Mini Matt - BMW Mini - BMW Mini Modifications - BMW Mini Parts and Spares - BMW Mini Repairs

Just wondering if anyone has used this garage and could provide some feedback/reviews on their experiences!

I used him back in early 2006 after I stuffed my MINI into the back of a Vauxhall that sported a towbar, resulting in me needing a new front bumper and radiator surround. The main BMW/MINI dealer in Shrewsbury quoted me £1000 to fix it, which I thought was a bit much for a car that was nearly three years old and which I was planning of getting rid of a few months later.

I found out about Matt thanks to fellow MINI2 member Restyle, called him up and he invited me over one afternoon. He's based in an industrial estate just outside Shifnal. Anyway, he said he'd source me a second-hand bumper and quoted me a figure of a mere £200 for everything. A veritable bargain. We agreed on this and I took the car back to him a few days later and left it with him to sort out. A couple of hours later, it was ready and he'd sorted everything out perfectly and I drove off a happy man.

I have no qualms at all about recommending Matt. I wouldn't call it a garage, though - more a lock up (may have changed since). But don't let that put you off. Highly capable, friendly and excellent prices. What more could you ask for?

I have just had a set of JCW front discs and calipers fitted to my 2002 Cooper S by Minimatt in Shifnal and I must say I was very impressed, he has just moved to a new bigger premises that has a waiting room/showroom.

I found his prices very good and will be going back soon to have a play exhaust supplied and fitted!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MATT

I think Bhozar has used him?! I believe others from the midlands forum miniaddiction have also used him

I used him this year to source a gearbox. I verified several times that it was a facelift gearbox, to which he replied, "yes".

He even pointed at the sticker on the gearbox and said that it proves its a facelift. turns out, quite the oposite. It was a pre-facelift box. I even had the box split and compared the number of teeth on the gears to verify it.

I had to make another 60 mile trip to swap the gearbox for another one.

I had been quoted a price inclusive of VAT, and when it came to pay he was going to add VAT on again.

There is an alternative in the Midlands if you decide against that specialist... ThinkMINI

Both myself and bhozar use them ... as do a lot of MINI and Smart people including some from as far north as Staffordshire. They are located in Worcestershire but only 10 mins from J5 or J6 of the M5
