Yes absolutely standard vegetable oil (not sunflower Oil). Diesel engines were originally designed to run on Peanut oil so its only going back to what they were invented for.

Horace....what mileage are you currently at, has the car had a service yet, is there any "smell" associated with this 50/50 mix??

Currently around 30,000 km. Used veg for last 10k or so. Its not had a service since I started using veg but I havnt noticed anything untoward.
Yes you do get a smell from the exhaust its a little like the smell from a doughnut machine but certainly not overpowering.

The Dooper is quiet but I can still hear it, I don't like it, sorry!

Also WRONG are shiny BMW and Audi convertibles with diesel engines, No, no, NO!

Mind you if they don't sort out the MCS cold-start issue my next MINI might make a very similar noise.
