Air Bag Light - Fail MOT?

Hi guys,

Sorry if I have posted this is the wrong section but I was just wondering whether I would fail an MOT for having my air bag light on?

Also is there anyone in the Leicestershire area with a reset tool who wouldnt mind me using it to see if my warning light will bugger off

Many Thanks

James

I wouldn't think so. As far as I know, airbags aren't included within the M.O.T.

Hi James

Just looked on motester.co.uk and they say on there. "The only warning light ‘fault’ that would result in an MOT failure is that connected with an ABS system"

as a tester myself (should have kept that quiet) I can confirm that airbags and their warning lamps are not testable items.
which is absolutely crazy when you consider their importance, as opposed to a number plate lamp which will fail!!

Clubbin' it and Lovin' it

I agree with Mella, it is surprising there not testable.

James it could be worth going to a good independent dealer to see if the airbag system just needs a reset. If you ask while its being service, they 'might' reset it free of charge.

Just had my MOT and my airbag light is on... They just listed it as an advisory note...
