Waiting Lists

I orded my mini cooper end of July and was given an expected delivery date of 19th Nov (about 4 months), now reading the forum this looks massively over the odds. I'm wondering if some dealers have longer/shorter delivery times than others.

I'd like a quick poll of date order placed, rough UK location and the expected/actual delivery date.

If I've been waiting over the odds I might have a go at shouting at someone at BMW and maybe get something for free, never know your luck.

This seems to vary from dealer to dealer as does the amount required as deposit. I ordered my Cooper on the 4th of September and was told i could have it in October but due to finances i chose to have mine in Novemeber. Also my deposit was £250, some dealers have asked for £500, a bit excessive in my opinion

Allocations

I think it depends if your dealer wants to assign you one of their allocations & when.

If they want to Spec order a lot of cars for the showroom, or if they have a long waiting list that they are actually following,,,,, Your wait could be quite long.

My Motoring Advisor,,,had an open allocation that he assigned my name to, then put my desired specs on it.

Should be about 8 weeks from Deposit to driving, and I'm in USA.

Good luck waiting for your MINI.

Ordered my Cooper back in the 1st week of August with a £250 deposit. I was told there would be a 2 month wait, and it has stuck to that E.T.A ever since.
Its now at my dealer (Henry Bros. Glasgow) being prep-ed for delivery this Wednesday(9th Oct).
'cannae wait!'

I asked three (UK) dealers recently what their delivery times were; the best was mid-November for a Cooper and January 2003 for a Cooper S, and the worst was January for a Cooper and around July for a Cooper S, so it really does pay to ask more than one dealer.

I ordered my Cooper on 9th August and the quoted delivery to the dealer remains 19 November. This was apparently their next available allocation not sold.

The deposit was £250.

Only 6 eeks to go!!!!

I got caught out on this
My dealer sales person lied about delivery dates and then left to become an estate agent!
I complained to the dealer principal and suggested they give me the TLC package as compensation - they agreed but it hasn't made the wait any easier.
Car ordered May but not due til the end of Nov!
