Angry It was inevitable!

Got my 1st stone chip after 600 miles.

There I was minding my own business going up the A1 with about 6 car lengths or so between me & the car infront when BANG! it hits just next to the bonnet scoop

The 1st one always hurts the most!

Also, how long did it take for lowlives to steal your metal valve covers? Mine went on day two and last week even the black plastic ones I replaced them with had gone too - grrrr!

Heard mention by someone else in these forums (sorry dont remember who) that they gave the metal valve covers a 1/4 to a 1/2 turn with a pair of pliers, this extra torque prevents wanna be theives from being able to remove them with their fingers. (just remember to keep a set of pliers in the boot should you need to remove them)

I have loads of tiny stone chips now, I think they mainly come from motorway driving.

I turned all of my valve caps 1/2 a turn with pliers, someone still managed to steal 1 of them though but I reckon they'd have had all of them if I hadn't have done it. They had some kind of conscience though, as they replaced the stolen one with a black plastic one.
