Fiend, seriously, can you tell us who it was? The guy clearly needs business and we might be able to help him out.

wow must they be desperate.

Most dealers will be able to match that, especially with the huge Chili pack discount currently available on new purchases

.........and of course we all have total faith in what Gordon has to say......

Did anyone actually suggest that the future of Plant Oxford is in question?

Not here much any more

I feel assured now. Same as I feel assured about the end of boom and bust, and Gordon saving the World too, of course.

Yes indeed! But I understand he was misunderstood - he meant "the end of boom and bust = no more boom...."

As far as I can tell, you can't get that much 'discount' off a new JCW. Wasn't there £750 towards the finance if you took a PCP scheme, but that's not the same as a discount and also I don't think it's available on bespoke-ordered cars now. Of course, you can still get around £1500 off an already-built Cooper S with a Chili pack (£1000 from MINI, £500 from the dealer).

Now that I'm thinking about buying a JCW rather than a Cooper S, dealers are reluctantly talking to me about discounts of about £500/ 2%. Not bad, but not too good to pass-up on such an expensive car (in a recession).
