Hi Paul and welcome to MINI2!

First of all - why didn't my boyfriend spend £4.6k on me for my 21st?!! I think she'll be a happy happy girl!

I would like to say its a very lovely, tidy example of a Cooper (not Copper!!) and one of the best colours ever, Indy Blue - and what a bargain! I think its a perfect basis for a modder to start with if shes that way inclined but an absolutely perfect example of a MINI as it is. I would recommend some sort of personal touch to it but thats all in good time.

Can't help with the cam belt and the whole white or not to white the alloys is a whole other thread entirely.

Welcome and what a great boyfriend you are!

Thanks for the quick reply (i've changed the spelling thanks)

I said girlfriend but we've had our own place for 3 years now and got a baby who's over 1 so it's not a big deal with the b'day present.

She will definatley be intrested in some nice personal upgrades, ill have a look about as i've just signed up to the site.

Thanks

Hi, welcome to MINI2!

The car looks fab. As far as I can tell from the photos, the previous owner loved her to bits. I imagine your GF will be all over the moon with it. I know I would!

Cheers,
TDLC

No worries. Yeah I know girlfriend is awful isn't it. I moved to Partner but I sometimes got funny looks? I've now upgraded him to Husband so I don't deal with the boyfriend thing anymore! Just a very nice present there!!

I would recommend watching the Italian Job movie if you haven't already. Theres a Indy Blue/White Cooper in it with bonnet stripes, full aero kit, spot lights and R90 alloys and its to die for! Very similar to yours really *with a few mods". That will get you right into modding. I found my first MINI run to be a brilliant experience and got lots of ideas from seeing what others had done.

Graphics and such just browse around and you'll see that MINI Pirate and Phil get mentioned alot. Hes the pro at MINI graphics so if you can think of anything Phil can do it!

Well we have had the car a few weeks now really love the mini it's exellent to drive, not the fastest car in the world but very fun to drive don't think you can get the same enjoyment out of any other car without spending alot of £££££

Watch out for Tyres if its got run flats , check pressures every week cos rim leaks are common.
£150 each is normal but you shouldn't pay more than £105 if you shop around.
Steering pump is a bit of a *** on that model , will go eventually ! but don't worry cos you can send your own one away and get recon one for £250 instead of £500.
Stick a Magnex exhaust on (£300) and will last lifetime and works out cheaper than bog standard exhaust : sounds great too along with K&N induction kit

cheers

Cheers mate, the wheels are loosing a few PSI a week is they a reason for this? will changing the valve help?

Magnex is on the list along with some lowering springs. The alloys are now white ill get some pictures up soon
