hi,i was was at the mini factory yesterday saw the new soft top in the new yellow looked real cool with black rims. also saw the horizon blue wasnt to sure at first but i saw 7or 8 of them being built and think it will look good out on the roads, also saw a chilli red jcw with the wheel arches all done in red and slightly different skirts to the ones ive got , again did not think i would like the colour coding but it looked really nice, the factory is still banging out 53 minis an hour and claiming 85% are customer orders with an increase in new sales up 5% had a great morning,
Colour coding has been offered by MINI since production began of the R56. It is simply the "Aerodynamic Body kit" this can be confused sometimes with the JCW Aero kit which is different.
If you go to mini.co.uk and build a car in the options list add aerodynamic bodykit it adds the colour coding as shown above. At over £1000 its very expensive especially since it is simply swaping the black bits for the colour coded bits.
The image posted previously is that of a car with the Factory Aero Kit which has color coded arches. The JCW Aero Kit will also be available with color coded arches.
When I was speaking to my dealer back in August about ordering a JCW the arches etc were unable to be ordered colour coded. Mine has the Aero kit and I very much prefer it over the JCW Aero kit, simply because it's colour coded, and that I'm not a huge fan of the black fins front & rear.
I saw my first Horizon Blue mini one with a JCW bodykit, It simply looks amazing. Just my colour, i think it looks like Thunder Blue on the GP's. Would recommend this colour 100%
