Funny noise when i pull away in 1st gear

Hi...
I wonder if anyone could shed some light on this annoying noise i get once in a while until my car has warmed up when i dont get it.

Once in a while whilst pulling away in 1st gear only i get a noise that i can only say sounds like a eeeerrrh rubber noise ( similar to like a belt slipping) it happens one day and then it wont. It happens when i am bringing the clutch up in 1st gear when pulling away.

I have tried changing the gear box oil as a Bmw TECH TOLD ME TO BUT TO NO AVAIL.

The noise seems to come from near the clutch pedal gearbox area.

Sounds like "clutch release bearing" noise, not a serious problem but can be annoying.. Do a search on here in "Faults & Fixes" and you will find some more info which may help.

Got same on my Mini for last year or so, its got no worse and does not happen on warmer days or in the summer.

Its not serious, even a clutch specialist said, dont worry about it not worth the Time or £££ to replace before the clutch is due.

BMW the said he has never seen one let go so.

Mine did it for ages and never had a problem, changed the clutch and flywheel which fixed it in the end

I had the exact same problem, got worse the longer i had the car, took it to the garage they couldn't hear the noise i was talking about (don't know how, it did it almost every time i pulled away) but said as the clutch was abit heavy they would replace it under warrenty and hopefully that would sort my problem. The next day it made the noise twice but not half as bad as it was, and its never done it since that day! And that was over 6 months ago now

Yes mine too on 04 One Diesel. Clutch release bearing BMW advised as well but wanted contribution from me to replace clutch & potentially box, though car under TLC. I declined & have done 50k since on it no worries, not got any worse, but always noisier when cold.
