Hi guys just after some advice. I am looking to get a new MINI Cooper D and have seen 1 for 9500 but it has done 80K miles!! it has a standard spec pepper pack and also air conditioning. Can anyone give me any advice if this is a decent price and also what problems would the 80k miles likely be? Also the guy says it has unlimited miles warranty from MINI but i fort it was 3 years/50K miles
well atm i have a ford ka that should do around 45mpg and it costs me over 130 a month in petrol i usually drive on the motorway to work about 320 miles a week. So i worked out and if i get the 74mpg from the mini d should save me about 60 quid a month and also the 35 a year tax is nice I had a cooper when i first started my new job and sold it because of what i was spending each month on petrol. (although this ka isn't much better) Just looking at mini one Ds now but they dont do the same mpg as cooper Ds.
You won't get 72mpg out of the D. 55-60 tops which don't get me wrong is good. I can't believe you spend this much on petrol to run a KA!! I spend a bit more than that on a Cooper S!
The D is a great car- I loved mine, although if you can I'd spend a little more to get something with lower miles.
yeh i know i sold my cooper because the cost of petrol was absurd!! then bought a ka thinking it would be nice and cheap to run and dint even look at the figures stupidly!! It gives off 159kgCO2 which is only 1 band below a cooper and doesnt even do 40mpg. if i'd have known i would have kept my cooper . But yeh the 80Kmiles is really putting me off! on another note does anyone know what the warranty is from BMW?
yeh I know 80kmiles is an awful lot :s and its only registered in june 2007! I am guessing it is some sort of company car or the like.
I have seen a MINI one D for sale just near me with the following spec
3 Doors, Manual, Hatchback, Diesel, 49,100 miles, Pure Silver With Black Chequered Roof. Insurance Group:5, Black Leather Heated Sports Seats, 17 Inch Mini Works Alloys, Cooper S Boot Spoiler, Silver With Black Chequered Roof, Black Bonnet Stripes, Air Conditioning, Xenon Headlights With Heated Washer Jets, Trip Computer, Cooper S Multi Function Steering Wheel, Cruise Control, Pepper Pack, Central Rev Counter, Rear Privacy Glass, Interior Light Pack, White Indicator Lenses, Front Fog Lights, Remote Central Locking, Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors, ABS, Traction Control, Power Steering, Drivers Airbag, Passenger Airbag, Side Airbags, Alarm, Immobiliser, Full Spec, Stunning Car, Full Mini Service History.
This is for sale at £9995, could anyone let me know if this is a fair price? I have looked on the valuation site and they all say 7500-8000 but that just for the basic model this has like every extra going it seems.
I do 420 miles a week to work, of which about 75% is on the motorway, the traffic dictates the speed I can drive at but generally its about 65-70mph.
Overall (measured at the pump) I get 63mpg (66 on the computer).
I have just covered 900 miles on a long weekend to Gent in Belgium and returned 70mpg with a gentle foot.
I would stick with Cooper D rather than a One D, probably a bit better engine and more efficient, maybe I am biased.
sorry, its a 2006 reg that MINI one. If a cooper would be better can anyone recommend a site to look on? Ive tried the mini site, autotrader etc i dont really want to spend more than 11,000
OK so ive been thinking and have been tempted away from the dooper diesel to the petrol model as i dont want to stretch my budget and from what ive read i dont think the extra 1500 quid is going to be justified on buying a cooper d, so now Im on the hunt for a petrol cooper and there seem to be quite alot for sale with low mileage etc. Does anyone on know of anything i should look out for, I have read the reviews and most say that the new model is new and improved
