Offline | Elvis Costello Lovers = Mini Lovers? Sweet side: Wow, we went to the Elvis Costello concert in Pittsburgh last night, and saw THREE MINIs in the crowd while walking back to our car! That's two more than we've ever seen around here! And that didn't even count ours! Wheat side: That concert was too loud! And too crowded! ![]() A delicious sweet-n-wheat part of a balanced breakfast! |

Offline | It must be true. I got two MiNiS and named my daughter Alison specifically because of the song sung by Mr. Declan McManus. ![]() + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | Elvis Costello Lovers = Mini Lovers? My last one was gonna be Alison till he turned out to be a boy. I'd also like for my first CD in my MCS to be Get Happy! if I can find it on CD. Not the most popular, but I think it would be good for the car... MINImeat MINImeat B/W MCS |

Offline | Yep. One of the first things we did in our new Mini was go see Elvis at the Paramount in Oakland. But I can't recall if the first CD played in it was Elvis or not... |

Offline | not elvis c. but ... Spoon By chance I went and saw a band I had never heard before in Boise last Thursday. I was really taken with them. Their name is 'Spoon' and they are from Austin, TX. I thought they were really good, and I describe them to friends as Elvis Costello'ish. Their disk "Girls Can Tell" is a good place to start. |

Offline | God I feel old!! Latest Album is actually one of his best I think, to me its more in line with Blood + Chocolate which for my Money is the best ever, moody and haunting! Does anybody remember the hairy beast (was it an ape??) that he used to have on stage that went into the audience and choose people to give requests? 'You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off.' SOLD it! |

Offline | It looks like those of us who have seen Elvis in concert should be buying walkers instead of Minis. I had been hoping to name our twin daughters Allison and Veronica, but for some reason my wife opposed the idea. 2002 Cooper BRG/White 1947 Ford 8N |

Offline | How funny that I saw this thread, since I got my Mini, I have been on an Elvis Costello kick. I hadnt listened to his music in ages, and for some reason, I just had to go out and get some Elvis Cds! It just seems to fit. |

Did anyone see the 'Case for song' special on TV the other week..? Can't remember what channel or when... since I got Tivo, these things don't matter to me anymore ![]() |

Offline | Wow, I too am a Elvis/MINI enthusiast. What are the odds? Spooky! ![]() Here's a page where you can download little snippets off his last(?) best-of album. I'm a big fan of the tune "Pump it Up". Surely the younger crowd has heard that one... Note to kids: "Albums" are what CDs were used to be called. -Dave |

Offline | What sort of music does he play exactly? Rock? Folk? And if it matters I'm 25, but generally clueless about most music. Going to look around and see if I can find some samples of his work. Edited to add this: Well. I listened to Pump it Up and it was... Uh. Interesting. Just doesn't move me. Thanks for the new experience however. RSX Base (US, not JDM or CND) Owner.
