I live in Buckhurst Hill which is on the border between Essex and London. Do you think it would be best to go for a full spray, inside and all?

Im interested to get an idea of costs, recommended body shops and all, so if anyone has some info, its welcome.

Would I also be right in saying it would cost less to spray a creme MINI than say black as I have yet to buy the car, so its all open right now. Might have a word with my dad about this, he's a classic car collector and I know he has an Aston V8 going in for a paint soon, might be able to get a deal going?

Just got off the phone to my dad whose currently at the auctions and he reckons he could get it re-sprayed for a max of £1500... what do people reckon?

Also may be worth considering resell with regards a respray.

This COULD raise eyebrows and put people off. The vinyl wrap on the other hand could protect the paint underneath and can be removed for resale.

What would put me off getting the vinyl wrap is seeing the Mini's that have had stripes and roof vinyls fitted and after only a few years they can look quite matt, and is not something that can polish up like paint does.

Do you not think a well painted white Mini would be more sort after? I would have thought that with the current trend people would be snapping up white Mini's (if they existed).

get a white paint job ive asked about vinyl wrap and they have to leave certain gaps otherwise it peels, paintjob would look better and you could add stripes or what ever you wanted, i dont think you can put vinyl upon vinyl.. also youd need to hand wash your car no jetwash (if its same as stripes as these just spray right off) i live very locally wud be good to see your car on the road if you do thiss

2 reasons in my book

1 - it is not a standard Colour

2 - the car has been resprayed

In Italy

if its done properly and for the right reasons i.e the whole car is pulled down and stripped then zinc dipped and then properly re painted it wont de value it one bit, it would be better speaking to a proper restoration place to have this done and not just a painter

a cheap over spray will put people off

Certainly this would cost more than the £1500 "respray" reported in this thread

Well i would have got a pure white if the made one....i asked if i could have one sprayed in the bmw white, while being built....said price prohibitive and it was. The pepper white is revolting its duller than dull.

What Snowie said, but I already said why in my previous post.

There's a difference between buying a pure white MINI if they sold one, and buying one that someone got sprayed later on.

thats why i said if done properly i work in the trade and i know how to do a proper ground up resto and whats involved in making it right your looking at least 5k to do it right, but if its worth doing its worth doing right

as for the not done buy bmw being worth less its balls if its done right, the factory paint job is shocking buy the standards you would see a decent resto place paint do the factory paint is massively orange pleaded, if you paid for one of the better resto places the paint standard would be higher than that of a lot of exoctica

if you go for an over spray it will be cheaper but it will be worthless as it wont last in the same way as a proper ground up paint job will that has been layered and based properly

As I posted earlier a proper color change would be "outrageously expensive"
