Multiple Problems - Where do I stand? Help!

Hi,

Recently purchased my MINI Cherished 05 Cooper and picked up on 15th June 09. Its had minimal driving due to me being out of the country from 26th June - 17th July. Yet I have already experienced multiple problems and I am unsure where I stand, hopefully somebody can help!

So far, the car has been in for a CD player replacement, twice for an ABS sensor issue, again for a cracked/worn suspension bush. Thankfully al have been covered by warranty, but the absolute hassle of having to rectify all of these problems in such a short space of time has just been a nightmare. Especially when Williams (in particular Williams Bolton where I purchased the car) have been an absolute nightmare. Logistically they have been massively incompetent, with the addition of horrible customer service Its gone so far in that I have had to raise an official complaint with MINI UK. They also failed to change my first MINI Select payment date despite confirming to me several times that it had infact been changed. When my payment was taken early I was left with £98 in bank charges. Thankfully, the formal complaint has seen me receive this back.

Obviously, the combination of everything has left me feeling massively annoyed. Unfortunately it has now been made worse as Sytner of Sheffield have noticed the exhaust back box is rusted and cracked while the car was in for the suspension bush. I cannot fault Sytner what so ever, they have been absolutely fantastic. The service agent I spoke to agreed it should really be fixed as a good will gesture and so requested one from BMW, which was rejected. I completely understand that this would be classed as wear and tear, but surely a rusted cracked bracket doesn't happen overnight? Should this not have been spotted (along with all the other problems) before the car was put on the forecourt?

Im so disappointed in it all. My first R50 Cooper had major problems (4 gearboxes, 2 steering columns... the list goes on). I finally traded it and bought a MINI Cherished hoping to have a car that had been checked off to the highest of standards before purchase. Sadly, it hasn't turned out that way.

Its got to the point where I'm loosing faith in MINI's, MINI and MINI Cherished. I'm unsure on where I stand. Is there any way I can "reject" the car, as can be done when purchasing new? If not, where do I go from here?

Thanks in advance,

Daniel

Sadly the days of BMW exhausts out lasting the cars are long gone. Exhaust is essentially a service item. The location of the back box means that it will get a pounding by the elements. I'm looking forward to mine going, so I have an excuse to buy a custom performance cat back system

I believe there is some come back with the finance company. Its worth talking to them and see what they say. I know others who have worked things out with the finance company when they have similar problems.
