MINI Remote Key

I have just purchased a MINI, and i remember the sales man locking the car door and shutting the windows with the remote key fob, but i cant seem to work out how to do it! I can open the car door and open the windows with the remote fob, but not the other way round! I know its possible - just don't know how!!

Yeah i can open the windows with the remote and unlock the doors if i just hold down the unlock button. Common sense would tell me if hold down the lock button, the reverse should happen...but it doesn't!

yep, it is in the manual.

"Convenient operation
You can operate the windows and glass sunroof*
via the door lock.
Hold the key in the position for unlocking or
locking.
Watch during the closing process to be
sure that no one is injured. Releasing the
key stops the operation."

pg 21 of the owners manual....That is with the key...

PG 20 states

"Convenient opening
Hold the button down.
The power windows are opened and the glass
sunroof* is raised.
Convenient closing is not possible by
means of the remote control"

Ripkord - i think your right, i have seen it in my owners manual (for the R56 Mini Cooper) it says that you can open the windows but not close......

stupid really as why would i want to open my windows while i am out the car?

It would be more piratical to be able to close the window's while out the car (I am forever forgetting to close windows/sunroof!)

Ok, so closing only works when you put the key in the door lock then. But you can open with the remote...i thought you could close it with the remote too? Oh well, must have been wrong!

Yes Kitis_1989 exactly my thoughts!! I've just seen it in the manual too. Page 18 - convenient locking via the remote control is not possible...how rubbish!!
