smart protect insurance ?? help please

collected my cooper s today and was offered the usual gap insurance etc but i was also offered "smart protect insurance"

basically covers you for stone chips, dents, scratches, and scuffs within 15cm diameter from chips away type repair

unlimeted repairs upto £3000 with no excess etc

it was £299 for 2 years or £350 for 3 years

anybody fot it or know where i can get it cheaper ?

ive got 14 days apparently to decide

I have been offered the same thing but I'm undecided.. sounds like it could be good for the wheel repairs (the Mrs)

Are you particularly accident prone?

In 5 years and over 100,000 miles of MINI ownership I've yet to acquire a dent. Experienced car buyers often like to see a few stonechips as they indicate mileage has been racked up on motorways as opposed to town driving.

What you are quoting costs more than £100/year, thats a few chip and alloy repairs every year!

Well I'm the same, I always park well away from anyone to avoid carpark rash and I'm really careful with the wheels and kerbs....but the Mrs isnt quite as good. We have 3 kerbed wheels on the TT in 6 months (one was kind of my fault )

For that I'd take it and keep getting it fixed! I've a couple of nasty chips which I keep meaning to get done! I'd snap it up!

Which dealer?

Which dealer?

it's westerly in barnstaple they have only started doing it since october

it will be chipsaway or shine etc who come to do the repairs and if they cant do it it goes to an approved bodyshop

im super careful but other people aren't i always end up with a ding or scuff one way or another

trouble is i rarely keep my cars more than a year so i dunno if it's worth it as he says i cant transfer it to a new owner

If you're only planning on keeping the car a short time then surely it's not worth it!
As with all insurances offered at MINI dealers, there is really only one person who benefits.
You guessed it - the salesman!!

Clubbin' it and Lovin' it

As I tend to keep my cars a while I'll be taking it However for such a short period I'd have to say I'd need to think about it more carefully!
