Decals from the UK

Hey miniacs,
Just ordered my new mini. I've been obsessing over minis ever since I first laid eyes on one so I'm super (turbo) excited. Its not everyday one gets to fulfill a lifelong dream eh! Anyway, I want to get some decals from the UK (mini-graphics.co.uk) but I was wondering if anyone has experience with their products. Is it suitable for the Australian sun? Cheers!

Hi there,

You need to find out what the vinyl is that they are using. Most produscts have a life and sun rating. You want a vinyl that is 7yrs+ and can let the sun through so you don't get any fading. 3m products are pretty good and I have had them on my car for years with no problems.

What colour is your MINI? And where are you?

My car will be blue with white roof. I know there are 3M and Avery vinyls. any thoughts on which is better? What do you mean by Letting the sun through and not fading? Is it so the metal under the decal can fade at the same rate as the uncovered metal?

AFAIK...yes....but I had some black on my LY MCS that I removed and there was no difference. I have seen some LY that looks really faded.....Mine is a 02 so pretty old and no degredation! It is kept in a garage though!

I have used 3M and they are good.

No idea on WA.....I have had trouble getting Vinyls here that fit the curvature of the bonnet and don't get me started on the merry go round of suppliers! I swear I am not destined to get a new set of vinyls!

mini graphics got back to me really quickly, but I then tried to get it done locally, well I would try them...they seemed pretty keen. I may be going back there myself!

BTW sounds lovely.....R56/R53? Dark or light blue? What colour/type or vinyls you looking at?

R56, gettting built in december and delivery in feb. Can't wait!!! Its the laser blue (dark). white side stripes, white boot stripes and an "8-ball" (like in pool) in black for the roof.

I have personally used minipirate before. Quality is exceptional, hence why I am currently awaiting delivery of my next order. Should be here any day now! See my gallery for the roof one Phil did up for me.
