I wondered if that's what I'd have to do in order to do the install, but I wasn't sure how easy/hard it would be... I need to replace the backup light switch anyway, so maybe I'll do both jobs at the same time. Should be a great way to spend a Saturday... I think I'm gonna go ahead and do the whole factory install with the new wiring harness as well. If I'm gonna do it, I want it to be right.

Just a word of warning, the foglight sequence needs to be programmed in the ECU. After you've done your install, you may still need to bring your MINI into a dealer to have the lights programmed in. I'm not sure how much your dealer will charge to do that. It might be an hour's labor unless you do it with a whole bunch of other stuff.
