Mini concepts r60

To whom it may concern:

I work at Moritz BMW MINI in Arlington, TX 76011. I recently have gone to a LETS MEET MINI training program held here back on November 12th and 13th, 2009. During our discussions Frankie and Greg, my facilitators, briefly talked about upcoming MINI's expected to release by late 2010 or early 2011, hopefully. One of these new breeds, rumored to be called a "countryman" or "Colorado" has grabbed my attention. This new and exciting vehicle drew me in hook, line and sinker! I love the concept of taking the MINI to a "SUV" look, even though it is definitely not an "SUV", but I don't agree with the so-called name being dubbed ("countryman"). Learning about how MINI is marketing toward getting people out on the house and on the road, I believe that this "SUV" should be called the R60 MINI MIGRATE to facilitate that message. To relocate periodically from on region to another, such as the open road, an antique shop in the hills or a mom and pop store on the shore. From New York to San Diego or Fargo to Miami the message conveyed would be clear, LET’S MOTOR!

There is no need to create 3 threads on the same subject - I am sure that the duplicates will be deleted by the mod team on here.

Can I suggest that you contact BMW / MINI directly with your suggested name, which by the way I do not like. But hey ho each to their own.

I think the name is almost certainly a nod to the classic mini see here and helps to continue the current naming convention that they started with the club'man'.*

MINI whybother
MINI notforreal

I dont need to make my car go faster, I just need to learn to drive it faster.

Maybe:

MINI I'dratherhaveabuspass
MINI Icantaffordaproper4x4
MINI halffat
MINI fail

Or even better consign it to the depths of history. It is a monstrosity and is in no way even slightly related to the idea behind the old one. Its a half fat 4x4, and if I ever want a 4x4 I'll do it properly - something like a Range Rover

Attack it - well why not! Virtually nobody likes them - hopefully they'll be as popular as the Renault Avantime. At the end of the day we're entitled to our opinions and virtually nobody likes it. Infact I'd love to meet the person who was sat there thinking - I know what the world needs right now; a MINI 4x4. I mean seriously were they stoned or something?

I believe the MINI is an upcoming contender for a lot of vehicle packages. It has become a major player in just the last 50 years, man. Don't dog on things you dont know about. Do you even know the 'R' in a R50 or R52 Cooper S stands for Rover because they are part of the parent company!? WOW, your smart!

M.O.S knows quite a bit about Rover, so I'd be willing to bet he did know that - you aren't impressing anyone by being smug with that little 'gem'.

For someone who supposedly works for a BMW/MINI dealership, you'd doing an excellent job of alienating your potential customers. I think it more likely that you're merely signing up to pass the time and get your kicks by winding up the enthusiasts.

Regards,
Andrew.

I did know that. However, you are clearly a fool - the r52 is the convertible. The R53 is the cooper s And BMW sold rover BEFORE the BMW mini was launched Rover were part of BMW during development, but not manufacture. Hence why BMW kept Cowley production (Originally the new mini was going to be made at Longbridge, with the Rover 75 continuing at Cowley, however, BMW consolidated the production lines into one building in order to make the business easier to sell, and enable them to keep mini production in the uk).

Did you also know that all seats in first gen cars were made by recaro?
If you take the mini badge off the engine it says 1.6

I know a hell of a lot more than you think! Did you know under the roof lining of an r56 without a sunroof is cardboard?

Your attitude isn't getting you very far. You're making very few friends on here which is a big shame. One dealer in the UK has many loyal customers due to their pleasant friendly and competitive nature. People go from all over the country to buy cars from them. With your attitude, people will go out of their way to AVOID you

This is something else me and andrew both agree on - we'd best get careful - this is happening a lot!

As you're into rover, did you also know that Rover actually had designed and built a working twin clutch auto (basically VW's DSG) and had 3 Rover Streetwise test mules running round Longbridge? Sadly they went under before they could produce the car and VW got the idea but...
