Question Mini One as First car :D

Hi there, new to this forum, so sorry if i have put this in the wrong area

I have my Driving test coming up very soon. I have been Learning in my Brothers Fiat Grande Punto, but he will be reclaiming that as his during the Christmas month and taking it back to Uni with him.

I really need a car to get me back and forth from Sixthform, to get out to see the girlfriend and just generally escape from the busy house. I am looking to get a 02 Mini one, but haven't really got lots of cash to spare, so was just wondering if anyone knew of any good condition ones sitting around.

Also, does anyone know of any good deals on insurance for a 17 yr old on MINI One ?

Your Help would be greatly appreciated, and really looking forward to starting to personalise my mini

if you do not have a lot of cash to spare I wouldn't recommend you buy a seven year old mini, as it could cost you big bucks to run.

what about a ford Ka or a clio/corsa, etc ??

Quinn are meant to be good. Expect to pay between £1000-£1500 depending on what kind of area you live in. Mini cherished is a good place to look - and they come with a year warranty so if anything goes wrong then you're covered

check Cheap Car Insurance Quotes | Low No Claims Bonus | Bell Car Insurance - they're a part of admiral apparently - the only site that gave me a decent quote

Im a 17 year old and im insured as a named driver on a 59 Mini Graphite with Quinn - Cost me £1700 having done pass plus. We also live in IG9 which has one of the top car crime rates in the UK so that adds a fair bit on.

But that is for a 1.4...

I think you will find we are, there are loads of news articles relating to it, in fact we are on this BBC list just to prove it - BBC NEWS | UK | UK's car crime hotspots revealed

It's a very big problem around here. We get criminals coming in on the train from East London and taking advantage of the expensive cars based in this area.

The actor Danny Dyer had two of his cars nicked last week - Actor targeted by Golden Triangle car thieves (From East London and West Essex Guardian Series)

Quote:
Essex Police recently launched a special operation to catch car thieves who have been targetting affluent homes in the Golden Triangle of Chigwell, Buckhurst Hill, and Loughton.

Think you might want to take your comment back...
