No, I would not say they are easier to steal - but you can never leave anything in one. Do NOT lock the doors. That top is expensive to replace and it only takes a pocket knife to cut a hole in it large enough to reach in and open the door.

I'm not sure about your area, but in some locations a wheel lock should be used on ANY car.

United-Kingdom Dont Lock the Doors ??

I understand what your saying, but I could not do that.

Would worry me.

i parked it up in the town centre the other day, I was on tender hooks all the time I was away from the car. Maybe as I only have just bought it.

But it was fine.

Its garaged all night, and at work its in a car park out side my office window

Does the Mini Cooper S Conv have and added security ? ie, alarms

Kev

I currently own an 09 convertible mini, and had a convertible mustang for almost 10 years. The mustang had the top cut once and window smashed once - both times for a worthless junk stereo. (Doors were unlocked -- thieves are stupid).

My current mode of operation is to leave absolutely nothing in the car, not a penny -- and leave the doors unlocked. Hopefully the next thieve will see nothing and not try, or will try the door first, and leave when he finds nothing.

-- BTW the convertible mini is fantastic!
