Just back from the UK Motor Show 2002, it was pretty good....

Took two sets of keys with me, Mini Cooper S and Boxster.

On the Mini stand I showed my keys and they took me to the 'owners entrance' of the Mini live show.

This got me into a special viewing area, behind the scenes almost, and gave a great view of the Mini stunt show.

Then I popped along to the Porsche stand, and showed my Boxster keys to the security on the stand entrance.

I was told 'sorry sir it's official invites only, you'll have to queue with the ordinary people.......'

Man was I ****ed!

Just goes to show how each company values their customers.

I went back to the Mini stand and spent some money in their accessories store, and ignored Porsche for the rest of the afternoon.

Thats alright i porche is just an overpriced vw.. I bet you get alot more looks in the mini then you do in the porche anyway.

...Boxster people wave and flash their lights just like Mini people, well most of them do...

It's the dealerships where you notice the difference.

Sytner Leicester, (Kelly), couldn't be more helpful.

Porsche dealerships on the other hand seem to believe that you spoil their day every time you pop in and and don't buy a new car!

They need some customer facing education

Funny to hear your comments regarding Porsche vs MINI.

I have received several waves & thumbs up from passing
Porsche owners. Most of them seem to like the MINI.

I have to agree. I bought my ONE at Sytner Leicester and they were brilliant.

I've also got a Honda Civic as my company car which I got at Grantham Honda in January. While the Honda dealer is very efficient, you just don't get the same level of personal service.

I've told my boss that I want an S for my next company car and Sytners will be getting the business!
