MCS 'Awaiting Transport' - now how do I sell my old car online?

I didn't know where to post this (if anywhere) but here goes...

Can anyone offer advice or links to selling a used car online.

My MCS is "Awaiting Transport" and I have to get serious about selling my Beetle.

The last time I sold a used car (a '77 MGB) I did it by placing an ad in the local PennySaver paper, but this is now the internet age and there must be an easier and better way to reach prospective buyers.

I'm tempted to try and list it on www.car.com, any thoughts would be appreciated.

JCW S, IB/W, Lapis Blue, sunroof etc.

The pennysaver still works well, but good luck in selling it however you decide to do it.

I sold mine using Autotrader. You can place an ad on their web site www.autotrader.com, but they have packages with their weekly autotrader magazines that you find on the newstands where it runs until it sells and also gets listed online. Their Web site is also a good place to look to see if you have a fair price. Don't forget that most of the higher priced cars shown for a particular year are from dealers so you really need to compare against the other private sales. My 300M took about 4 weeks to sell. The final buyer found it at a newstand rather than online which is where I think most buyers still look.

Use a paper. You're in a larger market then I was, but when I had to sell my car in Rochester NY, I futzed with online ads for about 2 weeks that yielded nothing. I spent the money on a normal classified ad (I did put it in the newspaper through their online section) And had calls about the car the day it came out. I sold it in 2 more days, mostly waiting on paperwork.

I've found the internet age doesn't extend to certain things. Especially cheaper things, like my car which sold for $1500, perhaps your beetle which is obviously newer would attract a market that would look online, but my experience said people still buy newspapers especially on sunday to look at classifieds.

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

I am in the same predicament (sell my car). As long as we're on the subject of selling your car privately, I have a couple of questions. I am still making payments on my current car.
1. How does transferring the title over work? Bank holds title. After cashing check bank gives me remaing funds, or two checks? Then title transferred?
2. I plan on the transaction taking place at the bank, anything I should look for (scams).
Thanks
