The beauty of having a new mini is....

.. that when (today for me) your car is in for work to be done on it, you can get a nice shiny brand new bmw 318i as a courtesy car!

The bad thing is that you can feel for yorself the differance in build quality between real beemers and the mini..... hmmm not impressed the bm definatelly has no creaks and rattles!!

My car is booked in to have a couple of rattles/creaks looked at. The service adviser chap told me they get big expensive beemers in to have squeaks and rattles fixed as well.

obehave,
Have you tried the new Corolla?
Nice car but I found it very dull to drive. It does what you want without fuss. My choice was between the Corolla, Honda Jazz and the MINI. I was in a foul mood when I went for the MINI test drive as the sales mob had been arsing me around. I was just going to stroke it off my list but after the drive I was grinning from ear to ear. Not got the car yet but it'll come

The trouble is though, you will have to stop going to cruises and start going to craft fairs instead!!

I also had 320dt compact for a day and while it was a very smooth ride and surprisingly quick I wasn't impressed with the spongy gear change and the foot rest that gets in the way of the clutch. And the storage compartment near the ashtray fell out! They all have their faults but with a lot of beemers being company cars they never get taken back for the minor faults.
Give me my MINI back! with its new seat bases, not a squeak to be heard

Does this mean that the new design for the standard seat does not having any squeaks? If so, I'm very very happy. I debated upgrading to sports seats just to avoid this problem, but I resisted.

My standard seats now do not make a sound and i'm very happy with the fix. I'm 18 stone and if they don't squeak with me in 'em I reckon they're fixed good and proper

The beauty of having new mini is...

....seeing the gorgeous receptionist at my local BMW dealer again as I take the *** heap of rattlin' leakin' crap in for it's second repair job in 2 weeks of ownership....

(family site, shortened expletives a no no. Bas' )

Low lie the fields of Athenry but I can stiil feel every bleedin' bump with this sports suspension plus option DON'T BUY IT!

I had a 5 door 318i as a courtesy car the other day... I really like that rear wheel drive thing though the gear shift was very sloppy...

Hmmm was nice... but not half as fun as my MCS...

was given a MINI one for a courtsey once too...

Isn;t it intresting what you get up to in someone elses car???

This car is going to lose me my license one day. I LOVE IT!!!

Igor thinks the joy of having a mini is that you always return to a better car after servicing

I took my Cooper in to have the PDC "is active" beep turned on. They gave me a brand new "52"-plate 318iSE Tourer (estate/station wagon).

It was evil. It was way too big for me (I specifically asked for a "small" car, but they seemed to ignore that) and it was a horrible dark metallic grey colour. It was impossible to get a decent seating position. Reverse gear was also in the wrong place compared to a 5-speed Cooper - it was at the top-left instead of the bottom-right, so I selected "R" instead of "1" a few times by accident . Fortunately no harm came of that.

The only good things I can think of were that the air con was pretty good and it was really fast. I got up to 80mph without realising and got up to 100 no problems...

Would I buy a BMW (other than a Mini)? No way. The BMW was soul-less and lacked charisma compared to my Mini. I missed my Mini terribly .

My family has several cars, so if the MINI goes in for service i drive a 1998 Lincoln Navigator for a few days. Well, lets just say that although it seems like the MINI could fit in the trunk, i REALLY appreciate the MINI when i get it back! That Navigator...sooooooo big and slow!

Whatever.

Grinder I know how you felt.
When my MINI need work the dealer provided me with a Huron.
It was so big that I could hardly step to enter.
Even then my MINI was remotely reponsible for enjoyment.
