My R56 pops when in sport mode. In normal mode it sometimes also throws out a small pop if I've been pushing it.

Driving thorugh and underground car park and it back firing on the over run is one of my fav things about my R53!

I picked up a R53 2006 Cooper S this weekend, its my first mini since owning a 1275GT in the late '80's - the second best sound it makes is the popping and crackling on deceleration and downshifting, the best noise is the sound of the Supercharger!!!

I have to admit to sitting in the underground car park at work today, gently raising the rev's and then listening to it pop and crackle as the engine slowed - how could you not love it!!!!
