Damaged frame on mini cooper tailgate

Hi all

Managed to reverse into a pole sticking out of a skip today... Unfortunately auto glass can't replace the window because there's a bit of a dent at the top of the frame.

Anyone know what the best solution is to this? Is it possible for a garage to hammer it into shape or would I need a complete new tailgate? I see there are quite a few tailgates going cheap on Ebay. All I know is that I won't be taking it to a BMW garage.

Thanks for any help.

It may well be possible to panel beat out the dent but may be easier/cheaper to buy a secondhand replacement tailgate complete with window glass (get some quotes)........you may even be able to find one in the correct matching colour.

Also try here for good used tailgate:

ooh that's a bit unlucky, the dent is probably what caused the glass to shatter like that.

I have to agree with mab01uk, there are really only two options to rectify it
