How to find out the factory spec of a mini

Does anyone know the best way of finding out the factory spec of a second hand mini. A friend of mine is selling hers and I'm interested in buying it but she knows nothing of it's spec. I have the reg and she will help with dealer authorization if needs be but can I do this easily?

Local MINI Dealer will be able to give you factory spec from Reg Number or VIN number. Also any BMW service history.

Exactly what I was going to say as it is all on the Mini / BMW computer. However you'll probably need her to do it as thete are likely to be data protection issues with giving out such 'confidential' info ;-)
