Exclamation Please help - info needed

hello, I'm a design student from the University of Brighton, and I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to help me.
I am writing a thesis about retro cars, and am focussing on the Mini/new mini, the beetle/new beetle and the chrysler PT cruiser.
If anyone would be willing to contact me off-list and answer a few questions into why they chose to own a mini/whether they owned an old mini/ what they like about Minis in general, I would be grateful.
Also, if anyone has any feelings as to why Mini chose to makeover the mini and relaunch it would also be helpful.
thank you
elf

All the basic questions were in my original posting.
Did you own/do you own an original Mini?
What motivated you to buy a New Mini?
What do you associate with Minis?(can be personal or general culture)
I'd be interested to know if you think you are trying to recapture an era/time in your life/state of mind by buying a car modelled on an existing vehicle.
I'm also interested if you have any personal opinions about Minis motives for redesigning and marketing an old established model
Thank you for you time.

Buying my Cooper had nothing to do with the old mini, eventhough my Mum did have one. A colleague got one and when I saw it I was hooked, took one for a test drive, placed an order on return to the dealership and the rest is history ....

From a retro point of view BMW have obviously got it bang on. My 2 year old daughter sees a classic Mini and points to it saying "it's like Daddy's car, but small", regardless of model, colour , stripes etc etc
