Ping / Pong Sound

Hello Guys,

Well I've owned my 53 Cooper S for a couple of months now, and yesterday evening when driving back from London the car on 3 occasions made a 'ping' or 'pong' type sound, as if it was trying to alert me of something.

The car has never done this before - and their didn't seem to be any particular reason - one time we were pulling out of a petrol station, the next on the motorway.

Any ideas what this may be?

It's to warn you that the temperature has dropped (to, or below 3°C), so the roads might be icy.

The display for outside temp should flash as well when the noise appears.
