Back in the summer I was in the passenger seat of my car (bf was driving), and I was reaching across the dash, trying to adjust the sat nav. A mini passed in the oncoming traffic and waved, I think he thought I was waving I tried to wave back but I don't know if he saw.
I've seen hundreds of minis since then but none wave. I've tried a couple of times, but I wonder if the older drivers don't like to wave?
I have owned most car manufactures in my 25 years of driving and the only car that ever got a constant wave was a VW campervan...so dont be disapointed mate its the sign of the times....way to many unfriendly losers out there in many types of cars..most are not motoring enthusiasts but rather Wayne Kerrs on the way to Nothingness with their nowhere lives and need a car to get there...
I would wave at a Vw camper even if I wasn't in one! cool ride
I used to get loads of recognition from fellow toyota supra drivers, i guess its when you have a unique vehicle. Mini's, as nice as there are are 'ten a penny'
I'm driving a 61 plate Chilli Red One with the JCW kit on it - last part of number plate is GHO but this is changing to SN08 GEO by the 31st of this month I mostly drive through LWG/St George/Hanham/Town/Clifton areas but drive through Bris every Wednesday so might see you!!
I'll wave at you Huckleberry! Sorry I just thought of Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday. I think since I have had my 08 MCS (August 2011) only one person has flashed lights at me. Nothing like when I am riding my motorcycle. Of course in the city not many riders waive. Once out in the country it's just a given, almost all riders waive. I say keep waiving for those who appreciate it!
first it was so funny to me when i bought mini that other people were waving and flashing to me that was last year but now i think less people is doing that maybe winter has something to do with this. And older people wave more often younger most of them just ignores you
Here in the centre of Sydney it seems every 10th car is a Mini.. So mini owners aren't so courteous..
In the outer suburbs and country areas though, Mini isnt so populated (infiltrated)
And so a wave has a much higher rate of return..
Since I got my S a year ago I've made it my mission to wave at any fellow S's
I've found that only owners who have made an effort to customise in some way wave back?!? Stock owners and even some justas just don't seem to bother
S owners of the world unite.. And WAVE!!!
Never had a car where waving was the done thing before. my missis is trying to get me to do it. she is constantly leaning out of the window and waving like a maniac at other minis.
i always feel a bit stupid when you wave and the other mini doesnt wave back!
