Dipstick level?

Just picked up our 07 Cooper S...

The manual isn't that clear about checking the oil level...

Exactly where on the dipstick should the oil be?

( is it between the end and the first collar, or between the first and second collar ignoring the pointy end collar)

Hi

Bottom collar is min, top collar is max and the pointed end is the guide
I normaly fill just below the max collar

That dipstick looks completely different from the dipstick in my 08 Cooper S. The only part that looks similar is the plastic at the end.

same as my 07 Cooper S,when cold my oil is just above max collar..

Mine's on the lower collar by the description... so top up definately needed

The two marks on the dip stick represent Minimum and Maximum, the oil level should between the two marks.
