58 plate cooper s any tips welcome

Going to look at 58 plate (reg. Jan o9) mini cooper at main dealer done 18000 miles has anyone got any tips on anything I should be looking for or aware of . Being a Girly I'm not very good with cars just know I love the look of it

Maybe check the history of the car with regards to the "death rattle" Also maybe check if its one of the cars thats on the recall list for the waterpump issue.

If its a non s cooper i dont think the recall will affect you.From what ive heard in the media it just the turbo engines.The cooper doesn't seem to have many faults compared to the s.I would ask for a print out of the car's history on the dealer's system.All the BMW dealer work will be on there.Dont be scared to haggle,there are hundreds of coopers around.Make sure it has a tlc pack (first 5years servicing paid for).Servicing isn't cheap !!You will pay a dealer premium so make sure the alloys and paintwork have no scuffs.I always ask for a full tank of fuel too.

If you are getting a cooper s there are more issues.Timing chain being the most common.I have a coooper s 07 20,000 miles on the clock and have had lots of aggro.Over £5000 worth of work at BMW in ten months(all paid for by warranty)Maybe the newer models have less problems.Good luck.
