Service around Manchester Hi all. I am really new here and new to Mini as well. I really hope members here would be helpful to share their opinions and suggestions to my problem. I just bought a Mini Cooper S JCW 2005 recently. I just realized its front driver side tyre needs replacement soon. And the front brake discs and pads also need change. In addition to that, my next service is due in May and the tax will be in April. That will cost a lot in lump sum expense. Tax(£260), service and MOT(£150+), tyre(£100+) brake discs and pads(£100+). Apart from that high expense problem, I am also having a difficulty to find a good garage near Manchester area with very competitive price. I ask David Paul in Warrington. they will charge me service+brake fitting for around £400+ which is crazy. Can anybody here share where independent garage can do the servicing and MOT plus tyre and brake fitting at a cheap price with good workmanship. really really appreciate your help. really desperate right now cos I have searched google and found nothing helpful as those websites dont put price. they need to check my vehicle first before giving quote. thats a crazy work to go to every garage to check! hope for some useful advices here. cheers |

| Welcome to the forum. ![]() How close to Manchester do you need? BMTech are in Salford and seem to get good reviews as a BMW and MINI specialist (despite the horrendous website). There's also David Paul in Warrington who get mixed reviews on the BMW forums, and also deal with MINI. If you're prepared to travel a bit (say, between 30 mins and a couple of hours), there are a few places which have received good feedback from folk on here - see this thread for example. |

| Hi. Thanks for the reply ![]() I can travel within 30 mins from Manchester City Centre (Piccadilly City Centre). I have checked those websites. They are quite pricey I guess. if I get an Inspection 1 + MOT for example, and I bring my own brakes, do you think that they will fit my brakes at no extra cost? I believe that my brakes need replacing in the next MOT. if they put an extra charge, that would cost a big lump sum of money since my tax is also due in April. |
