United-Kingdom Mini Warranty Running Out!!

OK, so ive got a Cooper S JCW replica and my Mini Warranty is running out..

I'm really not sure if its worth renewing the warranty, Mini want around £500 a year. which i personally find ridiculous, so the options are either not having it or maybe finding it cheaper somewhere else..

Any advice would be great as i really dont know whats best.

What have you done?

Thankyou!

really depends on how reliable the car has been up to now.

if you have not had any problems with it ( how long have you owned it ? ) them it's unlikely something major will fail in the near future, as long as the car is serviced and looked after.

if that is the case I would put away the £500 a year and you will always have the cash to pay for future repairs if required.

Ive had the car just over a year.

Nothing has gone wrong on the car at all. its been very reliable. i'm thinking i should just keep a extra eye on the car, keep it well looked after and serviced and hopefully fingers crossed ill be fine.

Hi

I have taken out the extended mini warranty - £500 worth. We recently had a hand brake cable replaced. The car went in for an MOT and a sticking hand brake. They did the MOT but could not fault the hand brake. Took it back and it was then replaced. Not £500 worth of work I agree but you also get breakdown cover with the package that I have. With issues such as "Death Rattle", a choice needs to be made. When it comes up for renewal, I will be doing it again.

How long can you extend the extended warranty? My CS is 5 years old and now has 1 year of cherished warranty as I bought it in January. I worry about what happens after that. Will MINI offer me the £500/yr option, too?
