Green plastic tab with a fuel symbol on it. (boot)

Hello Guys,

My other half bought a R56 Clubman Cooper D last weekend.

Today - when taking the dogs out of the boot, one of the little sods has pulled a piece of plastic off the side of the boot. (left hand side)

It's a circular green plastic tab with a fuel symbol on it - the circular tab appears to have once been connected by a long plastic connector that run into and behind the side wall of the boot.

Does anyone know if this is anything important?

from memory i've also got same on my S,manual release for the fuel cap cover

Yes, it's the manual release for the fuel flap in the event of electrical failure or locking problem via central locking.
