Driver's side window

My driver's side window won't go down in my 2003 mini cooper. Can't really afford to take it anywhere. Does anybody have a solution?

I think i read that by banging the door just above the speaker it can fix it, if not try removing the door card and having a look inside for any problems...may be a faulty motor.

Operate the window switch and give a thump to the door, about midway between the two speakers.

Worked for me and not had a problem since.

Check the fuse, located just forward of the passenger door.
Each window has it’s own fuse with an easy to read diagram.
