Mini cooper s 2003 creaking noise

Hi, I wonder if anyone might have any ideas what this noise might be my 2003 Mini cooper s is making. It's a loud creaking noise when braking at lower speeds, when touching the brake pedal gently you can hear the creaking noise starting, if you apply the break hard you can't hear it and it's especially loud when breaking slowly to a halt. there is no loss in breaking power at all but the noise seems to get louder the longer you have been driving. it's reasonably quiet when first driving the car until its warmed up. I thought maybe could be a break pad sticking but have no loss at all in breaking power. the car has a recent mot and break pads when it had the mot in April and just seems to be getting louder. car also had recent wheel bearings and mechanic couldn't find any problems yet still making this noise. any help would be much appreciated! :-)

Hey rossi. I used to brake it would make a cruching noise pads and disks were fine. It was my sped sensor starting playing up the one day failed and flagged up on the ecu that's how I found the problem. If it didn't flag up I wouldn't of found it. Give them a clean see if it helps
Good luck

Does it sound more like suspension/front end? The wait transfer may be causing the creaking noise when breaking. Is everything sealed on the front end or can moving parts be lubed?

Many suspension points of movement use to have a grease fitting to lube those moving parts. Modern cars seem to have more sealed joints that cannot be lubed. It sounds like suspension to me too. Sometimes softer parts made to flex like bushings will wear out.

There behind the discs a cable connected to them you can only clean them by spraying em from underneath behind the bearing get your head right behind it. Check your suspension doe
Hehe good luck
