Cool How Cool? Sub Zero..that's how cool !!

According to our car guru Mr. Clarkson.

That's where the new MINI ended up in Top Gear's wall of shame n fame. Loads of cars were rated but only three or four made it into the top "sub zero" status as the coolest cars of the moment.

This bodes well for our Hero car, as 18 months have passed us by since our reason for being was launched

This was just Jeremy Clarksons view but I for one totally agree

so enjoy the kudos guys n gals !!

Cool, when he started the feature there were only 3 cars in the subzero section. Aston Martin Vanquish, Land Rover Defender and the MINI. I build Defenders and drive a MINI, so thats a result in my opinion

Hooray for JC. He also put our holiday car, the Avantime in there, so his rating with me is soaring!

Unfortunately if you saw all of Top Gear you'll notice that the Mini came in at no.5 in the gay top ten cars????? oops!

It'll be nice while it lasts. I hope the current position of the once 'ultra cool' beetle (I remember Clarkson sining it's praises on TV when it was brand new) isn't where the MINI ends up in the next couple of years.

I doubt it though.

Interesting to read that considering that I am selling a Defender to get my MINI Cooper S. . . . . .

Guess I'd better pick up that Aston Martin just to complete the collection. . .

Here is a fun photo from my honeymoon in and around Moab Utah! Enjoy!

Luckily I was able to keep the Series 3 when I got my MINI. I doubt they'd give me much of a trade in allowance anyway!

Nice trip through the mud above. Makes me want for the snow this season so I can go stomping around in it :-)

Everything is better with monkeys!

No.4 PCOTY

If getting Mr Clarkson recognition wasn't enough, the Cooper S made number 4 in CAR magazines Performance Car of The Year, if thats not an achievement then I don;t know what...

It got beaten by Merc SL55 AMG, Ferrari 575M and my dream the Pagani Zonda C12S, ohhhhh nevermind considering you could buy at least 5 speeced up CooperS for the cheapest one of them.... Ohh and the Honda Civic Type-R didn't make the forty cars, he nearest competition was the Renault Clio Cup and that was nowhere close......

Wooooooooo hooooooooo I'm driving the 4th best Performance Car, I'll accept that!!!!!

This car is going to lose me my license one day. I LOVE IT!!!

My wife and I had a TDI 300 Defender90 Hard Top for three years when we lived in a remote cottage with generator and one of the longest Fords in the UK. Which in winter could reach nearly 4FT.

The Defender came in handy and is an awesome vehicle.
However I have driven a new TD5 and it just doesn't have the soul of the 300 series!!

We sold the defender when we moved into civilization!!

Still miss it!!

.... I digress!!

I never liked the new Beetle. It was just too big and flabby. The back is especially ugly. It could have been a cool car.

I think the MINI's desirability will fade. I hope it doesn't fade quickly, but I wonder what will happen to the values of our MINIs when the model gets revised. That's why I think anyone paying new prices for a second-hand car needs their head examining.

Having said all that, I hope it comes to be regarded as a classic in its own right, but I'm not banking on it.

I was surprised at how far the Top Gear team considered the Audi TT to have fallen. I've always like the look of that car (actually it's one car I like in Red, because it's a bit more unusual for that car than the boring silver you see every other car in nowadays).

There is a HUGE difference between the way that VW created the NEW Beetle and the way BMW created the NEW Mini.

VW simply took an existing platform (Golf/Jetta) and put a stylish body on it but did nothing really revolutionary except for the aesthetics and marketing.

BMW made a complete package from scratch that is going to be long lasting in a way that no beetle or pt cruiser could ever hope to know.
