ambient light and lock signal for 2012 Countryman S - MINI Cooper Forum

Hi everyone,

I just got my 2012 Countryman S ALL4 with premium package. It's great. But I have 2 questions here you may help me out.

Can I turn off the ambient light? It can change color and brightness but can't be off? The internal door handles have the lights on, which is beautiful but the handle is a bit too warm. I have a concern that the lights would be burned off someday....knock the wood...

Can the car have acoustic alert when I lock it? From the manual, there's an option but when I go to check, there's only 2 options for the lock confirmation, off or flash the lights. Doesn't it come with the premium package?

As for the normal MINI I dont think the audible alarm confirmation applies to UK market cars.
If you have the light flash why would you need an audible confirmation too?
Unless its for the hard of seeing?
