Black Cooper Remapped? Turbo? What can you do to a mini 1.6

Had my mini cooper a little while now (still a newbie ) and need to do something to it, im getting the roof, wing mirrors and stripes viynled pink soon (its currently black and white so will be black and pink!) I'd love a cooper s but finances and oh insurance stands in my way, dont get me wrong i love my mini but it needs something done to it!? Got a few questions if anyone can help or have done it, Can you fit the same year 's' bodykit onto it? or can recommend another good body kit also is there anything i can do to the engine to improve it, the other half said it would be pointless re mapping as its a 1.6 petrol so can you or can you add a turbo? If anyone has done something like this to theirs can you link me to the thread or advise me. Thanks

If youre doing it pink, you dont need a re map, drive slowly so people notice and wave as you go by.
Is this a Barbie pink?
Of course you can fit a bodykit onto it thats designed for your year of car.

You can fit R53 (Cooper S) exterior parts (bumpers, side skirts, fuel cap) to a R50 (Cooper). There is also an OEM Aero Kit:
RealOEM - R50 Aerodynamics Package
There is not much you can do to increase power of the Cooper engine unless you have deep pockets. Going down this route would also entail replacing the problematic Midlands transmission in your car.

Further to the above, given your concern about insurance - you'd need to declare any modifications, so the price would still rocket.

Insuring a Cooper with a body kit and aftermarket turbo would almost certainly cost you more to insure than a standard Cooper S.

Agreed.

Would be better looking down the cooper s route if looking for more power
