| No, I think you're just being a bit quick in letting out the clutch - it needs about half to one second for the idle speed to stabilise after the engine has fired on a Cooper. Alternatively for a quicker start, use a bit more throttle with a bit more clutch slipping.
It is very apparent in my new SD that this engine doesn't need the mini-wait - the clutch can be let up as soon as the engine is turning and the low-revs diesel torque just pulls the car away. |
