One thing I hate..

One thing I hate about the mini, although the feature is incredibly helpful when maintaining the condition of the car, is the 3 second notification it shows when I turn on the car.

That little picture that lights up and turns red. The brake light comes on, and then turns red and then turns off.. Does this mean I need to get my brakes fixed? Any estimate on how much break pads are, or other parts?

Usually when the display turns red it's time for service. Several system are set for a certain mileage and when you get there the service display is red. Sounds like you need to get your brakes checked if the brake service indicator is red.

The cost for my pad and sensor replacement on 2 wheels was about $500 at the dealer. Outrageous I know but the dealer will do it correctly.

I went to CarMax, where I purchased my car. Changed the pads, rotors, and sensors for the front for 500 bucks. And I just paid off my credit card, too. *cries*

I just fitted new disks and pads all round, had to strip 3 calipers down and fit new seals too. Also had to make a tool to wind the rear pistons back in. Parts cost me about £150. Got the discs off eBay, made locally by Juratek and they've been great. Mintex pads bought from a local factor.

If I had to pay BMW dealer prices I would sell the car.
