Which Cooper S should I buy?

Hi All,

Moving into Boston, MA and the wife needs a car that will fit in our tandem parking space. I am suggesting a used MCS but unsure which one to get. I would only buy something with around 60-75K (or less) on the clock.

Should I get the S R53 or the S R56? It has to be an automatic for her though.

Any thoughts or suggestions on which one / year I should buy? It's mostly for commuting around the city and parking in our small parking space.

If you could let me know what problems to look out for (such as which years to avoid) as well as what options I should really try to get.

I might even buy new or fairly new.

Dude I got a r53 supercharger and I love it it's more on road tax and petrol not had many problems
Bypass valve went and the throttle body
That's about it
The r56 is turbocharged and better on petrol and road tax
I will get one as I want better gadgets inside.
It's a softer drive too
Unsure about what problems they have to look out for doe.
