I have 2007 Cooper S automatic with 49000 miles, it runs very well but I have noticed (others too) after the engine warms up and when moving off from lights or a stop sign a large bellow of blue white smoke, then nothing until I stop again. I am not losing coolant, no warning lights are coming on so the engine is not over heating and the cars still runs accellerates like normal
No change in mpg, no noticable increase in oil consumption. Only thing noticed is a clattering noise from under the hood, when starting from cold for the frist hundred yards then quiet
Any ideas please?

Other people talk of the clattering noise when cold. Google it or do a forum search... or buy a diesel :-)
