Mini Cooper S JCW

Hi all,

I expect to be hammered for either putting this in the wrong section or something along them lines but i am a newbie and after some advice

I have been looking for a JCW for a few weeks and after finding a few that look totally different to one another i have done a little bit of research but seem to have confused myself :P

I'm going to look at a car tommorow and believe it to be (from reading on here tonight) a Cooper S with the JCW tuning pack on as it's an 03 the 200bhp version??

As i said i'm a noob so any advice on the car would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

The auction description says the car has the 210bhp version of the JCW Engine Tuning Kit. The pictures in the Photobucket album show the JCW air box which is part of this kit. Unfortunately, I was not able to enlarge the pictures of JCW Certificate or the JCW Kit Number Plate to see when it was installed and what kit number it has.

The only "true" 1st Gen JCW was the GP ... others were a MCS with a JCW Tuning Kit.

Welcome to the forum! Don't worry too much about posting stuff in the wrong place - threads can always be moved if necessary.

Based on the year, as you rightly say, it'll be the 200bhp dealer fit JCW tuning kit. As per the link, that includes:

Machined Cylinder Head, Supercharger with Reduction Pulley, NGK BKR7EQUP Spark Plugs, Cat-back, Exhaust, ECU Remap. Intercooler Cover, Front and Rear Badges

There should be some accompanying JCW paperwork included with the sale.

Let us know how you get on. If you haven't already, check out these first generation buyers guides:

Good luck with your prospective purchase!

Not necessarily ... the kit could have been fitted after the 210bhp kits were introduced or could be a 200bhp kit upgraded to 210bhp.
