Thank you everyone who has posted.

Your clubmans sound good but out of my budget unfortunately!

I had to get something sorted this weekend, my choices were limited due to budget and availability locally. I did ring up about a private mini - told it had been withdrawn from sale . Therefore decided it was fate to check out an A3; deposit paid subject to me liking it after valet (only just arrived when we viewed and was filthy).

A mini will have to wait for now! Really appreciate your advice - thank you

Talking I have a 9yr old and....

If their knees hit the edge of the seat to bend like an adults yes, however if they have that small child legs straight out in front riding position it can be tough without the seat all the way forward. My 9 yr old has trouble because her feet don't hit the floor and so they are right at seatback height for me and if her feet grow before her legs get longer we may have issues. Hope this helps
