I had my experience tainted by my local dealer, who are the most convenient for servicing and warranty, but bad customer service. They clean MINI in the morning, work on it in the afternoon, and never clean up the mechanics' mess after they've done. Three times that's happened to me. It also took four visits to get the correct mirror glass.

The dealer I buy MINIs from (different, further away) is better than average, but could do with ringing me with news from time to time. I get update letters ok though - it's just nice to have a personal phone call instead of a form letter.

I voted 10!

I have found MINI services very helpfull and my dealer has been brilliant so far. Also a mention to BMW area manager who has been very helpfull. Every time something goes wrong they keep giving me free stuff!!

By the way. I give the Oxford plant 3 for quality control!!

I've given them the full 10/10 as I have nothing but praise for my dealership. All work on both my Cooper and MCS has been carried out at the minimum inconvience to me and all work so far has rectified all the problems
The emergency services gets my thumbs up too as when my gear linkage broke they were out and repaired it within 45 mins
Funny thing though is I don't get an feedback calls regarding my MINI
Everytime my BMWs been in I get a call the next day
I guess BMW aren't ready yet to handle all the flack they'll get for not getting the cars made properly before they leave the factory

MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime

To be fair my dealer has always been good and the one time
I used Mini emrgency sevices they responded quickly.
what I am not so happy about is the amount of time both of my cars have been off the road for one reason or another.

In the first six weeks of having my S it spent 17 days in the garage. Most of the problems were exactly the same ones that afflicted my cooper. The worst problem was an issue with the gear linkage that was eventually fixed by some engineers from the factoy due to the persistence of the dealer to get the issue resolved.

I've given them 9. My dealer was top notch and made me feel wanted as a customer. Only slight downside was the lousy courtesy car they gave me when I had some work done on the radio.

Has everyone voted correctly, was 10 high and 1 low. There's as many 1s as 10s but no commentary in here about their bad experiences

One thing I would add is that BMW dealers are very variable. The one I use Wollaston in Northampton (shameless plug) is superb, but there are others where you are treated very poorly I have been made to feel totally not worthy in some dealers (I am probably not:d)and this was when I was trying to buy a £40k M3. Which is odd quite frankly as BMW pride themseves on custmer service.

i voted 7...would have been a 10...if the dealer hadnt crashed my car..
but they sorted it..so they redeemed a couple of lost points.

Customer? service? BMW? you are joking aren't you? If the dealer is the front end of BMW's "service", then it's toilet.

Don't get me wrong, I think I've just been unlucky and there are obviously some great dealers around. I just wish I hadn't picked the duff one.

Bitter? me? Naaaaaah.

btw I only voted 1 'cause there wasn't a 0

I've give em 5.

The sales side is 10/10 at my dealer, but the serviceing side is iffy at best. i just don't have the confidence in them when I takemy car in. But thats not BMW customer service thats my dealer.

I mean really my car has been treated well, and so have I but I just don't get the right impression. Took my car to a differant dealer to hae my Aero spoiler fitted (they also kindly fixed my faulty fuel cap lock) and there i felt I got the proper service (maybe because I was paying for something it was differant).

My rating of 5 is for my dealer not BMW/MINI as not had to deal with them yet.

As I said sales was top, the serviceing side just iffy. Maybe I'm just picky. I mean my mates servicing for his citroen was appauling!

I can only comment on my dealer as I've thankfully not had to deal with MINI UK - although I did email them a question and got no reply

The sales guys at my dealer were excellent. Courteous, helpful and always answered my queries either by email or telephone.

The service dept has been superb on the two occasions my car has been with them to program a new key, set some programming options on the car and fix a few minor niggles. They are very professional and treated my requests seriously.

On the first occasion they gave me a chauffer service in a 7 series and the second gave me a 318i with 200 miles on the clock as a courtesy car

So 10/10 to Eastern MINI in Edinburgh.
